BEST PLACES TO KISS (MSN.com)
On a roller coaster.
Yes, love has its ups and downs, but that's what keeps it exciting. Kiss at the crest of that first big hill and hang on to each other as you plummet!
On your desk.
Research shows that as many as 61 percent of relationships start in the workplace, and 50 percent of office amours lead to marriage (that includes this writer!). So if you're flirting by the coffee machine or bantering at brainstorming sessions and it isn't against company rules, take it to the next level (after hours, please; discretion is important!). Don't have a desk job? Find the nearest supply closet.
At a museum.
Appreciating a beautiful work of art together can create passion. Why waste it?
In the middle of a crowded street. Life can be mundane and hectic at the same time, but a sweet, juicy kiss can make an average moment special. To get the idea, think of the iconic image of a sailor smooching a nurse in New York's Times Square on V-J Day.
In a dressing room.
Are you the type who's turned on by the idea of a public display of affection -- but would prefer some darned privacy? The dressing room rendezvous affords the best of both worlds. Plus, it has illicit allure (sneaking someone in where he or she technically isn't supposed to go) without setting off theft detectors.
On a pile of coats.
Preferably, with a stranger you met at the party. It's a mating rite of passage everyone should experience at least once. Guaranteed to irritate other guests!
Upside down.
You don't need Spidey skills to pull it off. One person simply sits in a chair and tilts his or her head back while the other person approaches from behind, bends over and plants one. Or try it with one person lying on a couch, head against the armrest, and the other person standing above and leaning over. It's a little awkward, a little weird -- and absolutely wonderful.
In the back seat.
Find yourselves a lover's lane, climb into the passion pit, and neck until you steam up the windows. It's retro romantic.
In a downpour.
Yes, kissing in the rain is kind of cliche, but if you haven't tried it, please do. The reason this kiss rules? Everyone else is frantically running for shelter, which makes time seem to stop for the two of you. It's surreal and very sexy.
In bed, while one of you is asleep.
You know from fairy tales that the kiss that awakens can lead to happily ever after. There's simply no lovelier way to wake up. As the kisser, however, you're advised to refrain if the kiss-ee is recuperating from a double shift after a bout of insomnia
WATER COOLER CONVERSATIONS.....
Did you know that there’s an organization in Texas called the Global Language Monitor organization? They claim that this week, the English language will acquire its 1 millionth word. They say that it’s actually an ‘embarrassment of riches that we’ve reached 1 million words….when you consider the average college educated North American only knows about 20,000 words!!
Instead of banning cellphone use while driving like many provinces are doing… the Alberta government has revealed a recent study that has found…..no evidence to support a ban’s effectiveness…..the study found that there are lots of driver distractions that cause problems including eating in the car, kids playing and crying in the car and applying make-up in the car while driving
Does this job still exist? It was this week back in 2002 on Parliament Hill they hired a “pigeon shooer” … the job paid $4,800 a month….or $57,600 a year
Turkeys can reproduce without having fancy time…it’s called “parthen-o-genesis”.

NINE OLD WIVES' TALES THAT AREN'T TRUE!!
Our parents told us all kinds of things to make us behave when we were kids. Did you know that if you swallow gum, it doesn't really stay in your stomach for seven years? Here are more old wives' tales that just don't hold up.......
1. SITTING TOO CLOSE TO THE TV WILL RUIN YOUR EYES...
You may get a headache, but sitting too close to the TV will not permanently damage your eyes
2. SWIMMING AFTER YOU EAT WILL GIVE YOU CRAMPS
According to the Mayo Clinic, it's perfectly safe to swim after a LIGHT meal. They do suggest that you take a break after eating a BIG meal...not because it will give you cramps but because eating a lot of food will make you TIRED
3. CHOCOLATE CAUSES ACNE
The American Academy of Dermatology says acne is not caused by any specific type of food, including chocolate. Since it's linked to the levels of testosterone in your body, acne is beyond your control
4. FEED A COLD, STARVE A FEVER
Starving yourself...not a good idea. When you're sick, your body needs nutrients. This old wives' tale may have been started because when we are sick, we usually can't keep anything down.
5. CRACKING YOUR KNUCKLES CAUSES ARTHRITIS
The president and CEO fo the Arthritis Foundation recently said there is no evidence that cracking your knuckles increases your risk of arthritis
6. CARROTS IMPROVE YOUR EYESIGHT
This is actually partially true...beta carotene and vitamin A can improve your night vision...but dark leafy greens like spinach work better
7. AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY
While apples are good for you, eating one every day will not keep you from getting sick.
8. LIGHTNING WILL NOT STRIKE THE SAME PLACE TWICE
It happens all the time. In fact, the Empire State Building gets hit by lightning about 25 times a year.
9. YOU'LL GET SICK IF YOU GO OUT IN THE COLD WITH WET HAIR
Colds are caused by viruses and having wet hair in the cold doesn't make much of a difference. So, pay attention to how often you wash your hands, not your hair

The man was found unconscious on the street He is currently recovering from intoxication. He can’t remember where he was drinking, with whom or what the reason for the drinking was.
Canadian researchers at the University’s of Manitoba and Queen’s have determined that the number one reason people hate their job: workplace bullying. That includes the belittling comments; the persistent criticism of your work and…the withholding of resources.
Don’t know how we missed this yesterday….but…it was “kiss your mate day”. Just a short history of kissing:
…the kiss as we know it today, was invented by medieval knights for the purpose of determining whether their wives had been drinking, while they were away on crusades
…and, during the Victorian era (the mid 1800’s) – social kissing was considered unacceptable behaviour!!!!
Did you know that the chances of making 2 holes-in-one in a round of golf are 1 in 67 million!!! Good luck.

We're very tuckered this morning..after the 11th Annual Bachelor's for Hope Charity Auction.
It was a beautiful night with 500 women lining up to check out the bachelors packages with over 63 thousand dollars raised!!
Danny was the host of the event and Jim Mauro and CBC's Lisa Laco were the auctioneers. It was a long night, but it really didn't feel like it. The bachelors went out of their way to be extremely entertaining which I'm sure upped their package price.
The guest speaker, Angela Robinson is a breast cancer survivor and I loved her exuberance and her love of life. She's the type of person that attracts attention and her positive attitude is I'm sure what pulled her through.
Make sure you mark next year's date on your calendar, you don't want to miss it.
Have a fabulous weekend!

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?Thou art more lovely and more temperate:Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,And summer's lease hath all too short a date".
It was on this date in 1564 that William Shakespeare was born. I found some information to share with you.....
William Shakespeare quotes such as "To be, or not to be" and "O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?" form some of literature's most celebrated lines. Other famous Shakespeare quotes such as "I 'll not budge an inch", "We have seen better days" ,"A dish fit for the gods" and the expression it's "Greek to me" have all become catch phrases in modern day speech. Furthermore, other William Shakespeare quotes such as "to thine own self be true" have become widely spoken pearls of wisdom.
Today has also been named Talk Like Shakespeare Day...and you can do it!
This link will bring you to some amazing quotes for you to recite...

Yesterday was our First Anniversary of being on the air together!!
We had a blast giving out gift certificates to Kelsey's Restaurant and Montana's!
I wanted to blog but was on the Coffee Crew. It was fun, we made a lot of stops, it's always nice to make people smile.
It was nice to come into work on April 21st, 2008 and be able to sit down and get straight to work. It was as if we had always worked together, though we hardly knew each other. We easily finish each others sentence, save each other when the other is floundering for words..which does happen, and catch on when the other needs you to do something...like change the topic or get the new weather.... The best is the laughs....they come easy and they make you, our listeners laugh...and that is exactly why we're here. We're hoping to continue to inform you and bring you your morning smiles for many, many years to come! Thanks for helping us celebrate our Anniversary!!
Here are two days worth of ....

Have you ever told a dirty joke around the office? Turns out 75% of workers are bothered when they hear dirty jokes in the workplace!!
There’s a website out there called “who owns the world dot com” – and it claims that Queen Elizabeth 2nd…is the largest personal land owner on Earth. She owns over 6 billion acres of land. Her main holdings: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK.
Today is EARTH DAY!!! A day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. Earth Day Canada has launched a new initiative called “save trees not paper”. Did you know: If every North American with a home computer, which is roughly 250 million….received and filed the bills and statements that are already available electronically from their financial institutions and utilities, each would save an average of 700-900 pieces of paper and 200 envelopes per year. That’s 275 Billion pieces of paper!
Plus: saving those 270 billion pieces of paper annually equals 34 million trees saved!!! The average pine tree yields about 8,300 sheets of standard photocopy paper.
A new poll out of Britain lists the top 3 ‘funeral songs’. People were asked the question: what song do you want people to hear when you ‘check out’? Songs making the list: Over The Rainbow // Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler…and the most popular song ‘check out’ song is: Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”.
It was this week back in 2006 – that a University Of Chicago study found that Canada was third behind Austria and Spain when it came to….’fancy time satisfaction’!!! Canadians tended to be very satisfied in the bedroom!!!
On Sunday…Fortune magazine released it’s ranking of the top companies of 2008. Exxon Mobil Corporation unseated Walmart Stores Incorporated with the top revenue for last year. Ready for some astonishing numbers?
…Exxon Mobil took in $442.8 billion dollars and saw profits of $45 billions
…Walmart fell to #2…still with revenues of $405 billion / and a $13 billion profit.
What is the most lucrative crop in the United States? Marijuana!!!! It’s worth almost $36 billion – more than corn and wheat combined!!!

Welcome to a..well...snowy Monday in April. It's not that we don't ever expect spring snowsfalls...but we just don't expect this many! It does not look like it's going to last with the warm temps though, so chin up!
Tomorrow is our First Anniversary! AND!!! You can celebrate with us, or, for us..we're giving out $25 Gift Certificates to Kelsey's Restaurant! Listen and we'll tell you when it's time to call! You can also send us an email, we'd LOVE to hear from you! danny@ckpr.com

Enjoy the day despite the weather!
WATER COOLER CONVERSATIONS.....
Did you wake up this morning and wonder what $1 trillion dollars cash would look like? Well…if denominated in $100 bills……$1 trillion would be enough to fill 4.5 Olympic-sized swimming pools!!! Now – we don’t have $1 bills anymore…but…if you did…you’d have enough to stretch almost 3 times around the Earth’s equator!!
The next time you go to work in a bad mood, don't worry. It could be a sign you're on the way to solving a problem. Recent research shows it could be the grumpy workers who are actually a company's most creative problem- solvers.
What is going on in the world? A 28-year-old man was drinking on a Continental Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu -- and apparently he was drinking too much. He'll now get to spend three weeks in jail…..for urinating on a 66-year-old woman who was on the flight! She has since filed a lawsuit….saying that not only was her entire vacation ruined, but she continues to suffer emotionally from the incident.
You ever been to Yankee stadium? Saturday would have marked the 86th anniversary of the old Yankee Stadium. The New York Yankees do have a new field to play in…..their new stadium cost $1.9 billion

We talked today about the show "Britain's Got Talent". A great number of people have gone to you tube to see Susan Boyle, the 47 year old Scottish singing star discovered on the show. When Susan walked onto the stage, you could see the judges, including Simon Cowell, were not expecting to be remotely interested in her. She was a little nervous when she spoke and when she made reference to being famous like another singer, there was a shot of someone in the audience rolling their eyes and looking disgusted.
Then the music started.
The song...."I Dreamed A Dream" from "Les Miserables".
As each shot of the judges, audience members and backstage...from Simon's eyebrow lift, to the open mouths of the guys (who may be the hosts?) backstage to Pierce, who looked as though he may be choking back a tear, to the nearly immediate standing ovation of the audience, it was clear...you can NEVER judge a book by it's cover.
Throughout the song, I could not help but smile and indeed felt a little choked up myself.
Check it out.......

Water Cooler Conversation Facts:
Tax deadline less than 2 weeks away – some of the numbers coming in: about 10 million Canadians have sent their tax forms into the government. The average tax refund is $1,500.
Are you complaining you don’t have enough holidays? How about this? On top of workers regular vacation days….in Columbia – they get 18 statutory holidays each year.
A new study in the April issue of The Journal of Applied Physiology says that an astronaut who spends six months in space returns to Earth with the muscles of an 80-year-old
3 billionaire brothers in Hong Kong are planning to build a replica of Noah's Ark, done entirely to specs given in the bible. It'll have a rooftop hotel and be decorated with 67 pairs of fiberglass animals. There's also an effort by some Dutch shipbuilders to create an actual floating version.

A beautiful looking Thursday is upon us with gorgeous weather! The high expected to reach to 19 degrees today!! Yes! Finally, we can go out without multiple layers.
Tomorrow on the show, we'll tell you about how some people are getting exercise...with their dogs....no, it's not by walking.
We could not believe the story we shared with you this morning.....
2-INCH FIR TREE FOUND GROWING IN MAN'S LUNG!!
A Russian man who had severe chest pains was told by doctors that he did not have cancer, but he did have a 2 inch Fir Tree growing inside his lung.
Twenty-eight year old Artyom Sidorkin complained to doctors that he had chest pains and was coughing up blood so doctors did an x-ray which showed a tumor in his lung.
But when Sidorkin's surgeon performed a biopsy he said, "I thought I was hallucinating, I asked my assistant to have a look, 'Come and see this, we've got a fir tree here.'"
The tree was removed from Sidorkin's lung and he is now recovering. The doctors believe that Sidorkin must have inhaled a seed which then sprouted inside him. (AP)

Did you wake up this morning – and ask yourself: I wonder what the most expensive autograph in the world is? It’s thought the signature of playwright William Shakespeare is the most expensive. Only 6 authentic signatures exist; each one would fetch around $3.7 million.
The average University student carries around $3,000 in credit card debt!!!!
This story making news this morning - in Ritto, Japan, the party of a 60-year-old man celebrating his retirement of a lifetime of working for a local transportation company went seriously wrong. The poor guy was killed after three of his co-workers tossed him playfully into the air but apparently miscommunicated with each other as to exactly whose job it was to catch him!
Tax deadline…just 2 weeks away. A new survey reveals that 10% of Canadians believe that ‘minor – conscious discrepancies are fair’.

A new insurance survey reveals that almost 20% of people have gotten into a car accident because they were picking their nose. More men than women pick, by the way!!
This story coming out of Toronto this morning: Police are looking for new leads after a 900 pound safe, holding more than $5,000 was stolen last week from a Habitat for Humanity resale building. Police say there is a possibility the safe has been abandoned somewhere in the city, say ing quote: "(The thieves) are going to have work pretty hard to get into it, so they might get frustrated and just discard it"
Real life Pirates have been making the news over the past few weeks – big time: Pirates have attacked 78 ships this year…hijacking 19 of them, and about 17 ships with more than 300 crew members still remain in pirates hands.
Researchers say that University students who use Facebook, spend less time studying and have lower averages compared to those who avoid the popular social networking site. What's more, researchers found those on Facebook spent one to five hours a week studying…compared to non-users who devoted 11 to 15 hours weekly to hitting the books.

Researchers say that University students who use Facebook, spend less time studying and have lower averages compared to those who avoid the popular social networking site. What's more, researchers found those on Facebook spent one to five hours a week studying…compared to non-users who devoted 11 to 15 hours weekly to hitting the books.

Happy Easter Monday!
We had a special visitor this morning...Lena was her name. She is six years old and is a HUGE fan of our show! It was a pleasure to give her a tour of the station. We also had her do a little recording for the show...we'll be playing that between 7:15 and 8:15.
LAUGH OF THE DAY!!!!
An elderly couple had been shopping at a grocery store, andthe wife decided to steal a can of peaches. The inevitable happened and she was caught. Upon her court date, the judgeasked her what she had stolen. “Your Honor, I stole a can of peaches.” The judge replied, “How many peaches were in the can?” She said, “Six.” The judge then said, “I will sentence you to six days injail.” Her husband stood up behind her and replied, “Your Honor, she also stole a can of peas.”
YOU DON'T DO THAT ON A SOCCER FIELD!!
It seems that breaking wind is a bookable offence in British soccer. A referee ordered a penalty kick to be retaken in a Sunday league football game when an opposition player broke wind as the ball was kicked. The Chorlton Villa player got a yellow card warning as the noise was classified as ‘unsporting behavior’. (Apparently silent-but-deadlies are still legal.)
WATER COOLER CONVERSATIONS....
Have you seen a UFO? Apparentley, it’s being reported that the most UFO sightings in Canada happened in Ontario and B.C. The Winnipeg based UFO-logy Research Institute claims there are over 700 UFO sightings in Canada every year!!!
Are you addicted to caffeine? Up to 90% of North Americans consume caffeine products everyday. AND…about half will experience withdrawl syndrome if they don’t have their caffeine fix.
Guys…if you want to impress a lady….get a cat!!! Single men who love cats are more likely to get a date. 90% of single women who were surveyed said men who like cats are: nicer, more caring and more sensitive.
AND – it was a tough year for Microsoft’s Bill Gates. Forbes Magazine revealed their Top 50 Richest People in the World. Despite losing $18 billion in 2008…he did regain the top spot on the list. Bill’s fortune is estimated at $40 billion. Plus…here’s something interesting: last year there were exactly 1, 125 billionaires. Today…there are 793…representing a total loss of $1.4 trillion

For most people it's the start of a long weekend! Enjoy and Happy Easter to you all!!
D&L
SUPER PANTS!!!
Good news guys!
Someday you’ll be able to go an entire week without changing your underwear, thanks to innovation from Japan’s space agency.
Right now, there is a Japanese astronaut up in space testing out a pair of ‘space underwear’ made from antibacterial polymers that are designed to absorb fluids such as perspiration as well as reduce the stench of days-old clothing.
The goal is to allow astronauts the ability to work for an entire week without having to change their underwear!
WATER COOLER CONVERSATIONS.....
Are you ready for a tasty hangover cure? Here it is: a bacon sandwich. Scientists say a bacon sandwich really does cure a hangover by boosting the level of something called amines, which clear the head.
Big game for the Montreal Canadians tonight…as they’re fighting to make the Eastern conference playoffs…they play Boston. Listen to this: It was this week, back in 1928, the New York Rangers were playing the then…Montreal Maroons for the Stanley Cup. During Game 2….the Rangers goalie got hurt, and couldn’t continue, so the General Manager of the Rangers, and one of the founders of the NHL….actually suited up and finished the game. The Rangers won in overtime – and went on to win the Cup that year!!!
Did you know that decaffeinated coffee is not 100% caffeine free? When coffee is being decaffeinated…2% of the caffeine still remains in it!!!
Not that you need a reason to kiss someone…but…just in case: Kissing can aid in reducing tooth decay!! This is because the extra saliva helps in keeping the mouth clean.
And…since we are heading into a long weekend….the Easter Long Weekend – this is worth mentioning: have you bought your Easter candy yet? Last year alone…North American’s spent just over $2.1 billion on Easter candy!!! That’s 7 billion pounds of candy!!!

LAUGH OF THE DAY!!!
Does this remind anyone of a certain workplace? Yours perhaps? It is funny...
For thirty years, Johnson had arrived at work at 9A.M. on the dot. He had never missed a day and was never late.
Consequently, when on one particular day 9 A.M. passed without Johnson’s arrival, it caused a sensation.
All work ceased, and the boss himself, looking at his watch and muttering, came out into the corridor.
Finally, precisely at ten, Johnson showed up, clothes dusty and torn, his face scratched and bruised, his glasses bent.
He limped painfully to the time clock, punched in, and said, aware that all eyes were upon him, “I tripped and rolled down two flights of stairs in the subway. Nearly killed myself.”
And the boss said, “And to roll down two flights of stairs took you a whole hour?

Just then the power goes out and Fred doesn't get the rest of the instructions.

Happy April Fools Day!
Not happy about all this snow though!
We did have fun this morning...not pranking people..but we did have some fun announcements to make......
The Procrastinators Club was to hold their meeting this evening, however, it's been put off until next week. Again.
Joe King's Plow Service will not be in service this morning...can't get out of his driveway.
Listen tomorrow morning..we've got more Blue Man Group Tickets to give away...it's your chance to "Beat the Box Office"!
WATER COOLER CONVERSATIONS....APRIL FOOLS DAY
Today is April Fools Day…or All Fools Day…as it’s known in some circles. According to Wikipedia…the day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes on anyone.
Traditionally, in some countries…the jokes only last until noon. If someone plays a trick on you after 12pm today…they’re called and “april fool”.
The orgins of April Fools Day are as follows: it’s believed that it happened in France back in 1582, when Pople Gregory introduced the Gregorian calendar. That lead to New Years Day being moved from the end of March to January 1st. However…some people continued to celebrate it at the end of March – and they were known as April Fool’s. Then – people started inviting April Fool’s to non-existent parties at the end of March and that morphed into the pranks we see today!!!
Some of the most memorable pranks:
…back in 1998, Burger King ran an ad in USA Today, and the New York Times, announcing that they people could Whopper for left-handed people, whose condiments were designed to drip out the right side.
…in the 1950o’s, a Dutch television program claimed that the Leaning Tower of Pisa had, had enough…and it fell over
…in 2005, a news story was posted on the official NASA website reporting to have pictures of water on Mars…and lots of it!!!
Believe it or not – however…it really is true: April Fool is the codename for the spy and double agent who allegedly played a key role in the downfall of Saddam Hussein.
