So, I guess there is such a thing as karma...yesterday I was being sassy in my blog about leaving work for my hubby Joe to do...boy did I pay when I got home! Not by Joe, he was gone fishing.
I stopped in at the house while I was running errands yesterday and was heading into the living room...I stepped over the gate that stops the dogs from roaming the house...but it wasn't secured properly and it fell over...and so did I. My foot that had been raised over the gate slammed into the hardwood. Sigh. Besides the bruising, no damage.
A few minutes later, one of the dogs was tangled on the deck so I went out, barefoot to take care of him. When I got back to the door to go in, I stepped on the metal threshold...yes, it was sunny yesterday, which means the metal was hot. Burned the other foot.
And later at baseball, what are the odds of a ball, after a wild throw ends up flying under the fence and hitting me...in the foot. We hadn't even been on the field yet. Fortunately that one didn't even hurt.
So...it doesn't end there...I was trying to make a call on my new phone...when I ended up hitting "yes" to making an "emergency" call! I didn't even know my phone could just dial it for me...I am still getting used to it...so...I stood staring at my phone in disbelief as it read "calling 911"...to which I responded by screaming "NOOOOOOOO"!!!!!!...repeatedly hitting the button that would end the call. My teammates found this quite hilarious. I did not receive a call back from the police...so my guess is I disconnected before it actually rang through...all they would have heard was me screaming at the phone....
WATER COOLER CONVERSATIONS....
This may make you think twice before posting pitures on line...a St. Louis woman says she posted a photo of her family on her blog and some online social networking sites..it featured her, her husband and their two children. Recently, one of the families friends was driving through Prague when he saw their huge smiling faces inthe window of a store specializing in European food. The owner of the store says he thought the picture was computer generated and began taking steps to remove it.
An umpire in Iowa has done what, well, really no ump has done before...he ejected the entire crowd of more than 100 fans at a high school basketball game last Thursday for being unruly. The umpire said he had to take action because fans were being unruly, yelling and arguing.
