Danny and I and many other radio staff were just invited down to the television studio to witness something so touching!

Paula Bentz called up to the radio office for us to come down to one of the offices in TV Land...there was going to be a surprise!!!!!

We went to the office and found about a half dozen people and a man we all know, dressed up in a suit....looking quite well, calm. But not for long. We were told that he was going to be given a cue as to when it would be safe to enter the studio area where his girlfriend, was doing some recording..so he could PROPOSE!!!

The crowd gathered around the office...coming from everywhere in the building, sales, traffic, radio, news....

Then we were told to head into one of the studios.....we waited for yet another cue to head into the studio where the unsuspecting fiancee to be was working.

Anne Carrol, our "Soap Scoop" Queen was doing some recording in the television studio when in walked her boyfriend of many years...with a bouquet of roses....she asked what he was doing and saw a group of about 30 of us behind him.....she knew what was happening when he got on one knee and told her he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her....of course she said YES!!!!!!!

It was such a sweet scene, and I don't think there were many dry eyes in the studio. The event was recorded, it's a memory she'll have to cherish forever.

Congratulations Anne and Mark!

WATER COOLER CONVERSATION

Months that begin on a Sunday (like this one)…will always have a Friday the 13th……and you know what’s coming this Friday!!!

As hard as it might be to wait, try to hang on just a little bit longer before you spend that $100,000 in order to clone your pet dog. A biotech firm in South Korea has created a new method of cloning animals which they claim will bring down the cost within 3 years ... to about $50,000.

Fighting should be eliminated from hockey at all levels of the game, according to recommendations released Tuesday from an expert panel dealing with concussions in hockey. Fighting is one of the known causes of concussion, and may result in the related long-term complications," the panel's summary statement says. "Fighting can cause needless death."

Motorists in a Dutch town received the equivalent of five-cents-a-gallon of gas due to a computer glitch at a local station. The director of the company that operates the stations said that by the time the glitch had been fixed, customers were lining up to buy the steeply-discounted product. Although they lost a large sum of money because of the error, he said, "I guess we can consider it good publicity, even if it wasn't intentional."
